Little Miami Clear – No Sewage Leak

UPDATE: Testing has determined that the earlier reported flow into the Little Miami River was not caused by a sewer line break. At this time, there have been no environmental impacts identified and testing will continue to determine the source.

HAMILTON COUNTY, OHIO – Hamilton County Public Health is urging residents to avoid activities and to keep children and pets away from the Little Miami River from downtown Loveland south. A sewer line break is causing sewage to flow into the river.

The Metropolitan Sewer District is aware of the break. Considerable sewage may have leaked into the creek.

“While the expectation for recreational activity in the river is low this time of year, we are issuing this notice out of an abundance of caution,” says said Hamilton County Health Commissioner Greg Kesterman. “It’s important to keep children, pets and those with compromised immune systems away from water contaminated with sewage.”
