Housing Nuisances
The purpose of the nuisance program is to provide inspections and consultation in response to complaints and achieve compliance with local and state public health nuisance regulations through enforcement actions when needed. We are regularly called to assist and resolve a variety of complaints, including mold in rental housing, mosquito and animal harborage, bed bugs, animal and general waste accumulation, disease vector and insect infestations, sewage and water intrusion, and environmental health emergency response.
Condemnations
Certain conditions are critical indicators of imminent danger and present a potential public health emergency.
Critical indicators may include:
- Lack of utility services like water, electric, gas, and sewage treatment
- Significant waste or debris accumulation blocking emergency medical services access
