Medical Gas
All medical gas installations intended for human consumption or use must be inspected for compliance to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 99C. This includes but is not limited to: hospitals, emergency rooms, dental offices and satellite surgery centers. Veterinarian offices do not apply.
- All installers of medical gas must be American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE) 6010 certified and have their certification card available for the inspector to view at the job site. Installer must be on site for inspection. When submitting a Medical Gas Application you must submit a copy of the certification card holder for the company.
- Please allow 5-10 working days for a medical gas plan review.
- For a medical gas inspection, you must call two working days in advance (example: for a 10 a.m. Wednesday inspection you must call prior to Monday by 10 a.m.)
- Hamilton County Public Health also inspects the non-flammable medical gas systems in the City of St. Bernard and Brown, City of Cincinnati, and Warren counties.
